Clothing Projects
Looking for inspiration for a clothing project? We love to create model garments to showcase ways to use some of our favorite fabrics and clothing patterns. Throughout our store you'll find model garments displayed as complete ensembles - usually even accessorized with purses and hats. In this section you'll find some of our Women's Clothing models with links to the patterns and fabrics we used to create them.

Easy Ageless Cool in Cotton
Sku #: MOD-EAC-COTTON
The fabric from Treasure Hunt by Marcia Derse is perfect for this simple top. The design on the fabric is so unusual, that no two shirts will ever look the same.

Easy Ageless Cool in Rayon
Sku #: MOD-EAC-RAYON
The drape of the rayon will make this camp shirt so comfortable to wear. We used the Easy Ageless Cool pattern by Cutting Corners.

Gallery Tunic with Linen Print
Sku #: MOD-DIGITAL-LINEN
Click here to order the pattern and see the linen.
The Gallery Tunic is a simple pattern to use with the splashy digital linen print.

Light and Shadow
Sku #: MOD-SS-DIAMOND
Click here to order the pattern and fabric
The pintucked cotton from Diamond Textiles works great with the simple design of the Light and Shadow pattern by Cutting Corners.
The accent detail that shows at the bottom of the blouse is one of our knits. Makes a fun combination of fabrics.

Long & Short in Rayon
Sku #: MOD-L/S-RAYON
Click here to order the Long & Short of it pattern.
The Long & Short of it is a flowing unstructured pattern that looks great in the Bali rayon.

Long & Short of It Rayon with Pants
Sku #: MOD-L/S-RYN
Click here to order the Long & Short Of It pattern and the rayon we used.
The Long & Short of it is a flowing unstructured pattern that looks great in the Bali rayon.
We made the pants out of the coordinating rayon. The great news is that the pattern has the pants with it!

Little Somethin' Jacket in Rayon
Sku #: MOD_LITTLE-SOMETHIN
Click here to order the pattern and fabric
The Little Somethin' Jacket is unlined and great out of a soft fabric like rayon batik. You don't have to worry if the wrong side shows; it will look the same.

Artist in Motion with Homespun
Sku #: MOD-ARTMOTION
Click here to order the pattern and fabric pictured.
We have made this pattern so many times and we love it out of each fabric we choose. If you aren't interested in the vest, the top is great for all year around.
We used a woven homespun in a "dirty" turquoise for this version.

Liberty Shirt
Sku #: MOD-LIBERTY
Click here to order the pattern and fabric pictured.
Liberty Shirt from The Sewing Workshop.
It can be used as a shirt of jacket with diagonal size seamed angled to the front. It has asymmetric front and back deep hems with mitered corners.

Long and Short of It Blue Rayon
Sku #: MOD-LONG-SHORT-BLUE
Click here to order the pattern and fabric pictured.
The Long and Short of It by CNT pattern company is one of our favorites. The size range is from 8 - 22 so most can wear it.

Point of View Rayon
Sku #: MOD-POINTVIEW
Click here to order the pattern and fabric used.
We used Point of View from Cutting Corners to make this garment. It has a lower hem in the back, but yet straight lines for a more tailored look.

Gathered Top by Indygo Junction
Sku #: MOD-GATHER-TOP
Click here to order the pattern and fabric to make this top.
Gathered Top by Indygo Junction is a wonderful pattern in either the top or tunic lengh expecially when paired with rayon Batik. The rayon batik flows and the gathered back is flattering. In a heavier fabric it would just be too bulky.

In a Pinch Vest & Gallery Tunic
Sku #: MOD_PINCH
Click here to order the pattern and fabric used in this model.
We used two great patterns for this combination. The vest is "In a Pinch" by Louise Cutting and the plaid shirt underneath if the Gallery Tunic and Loominous from Anna Marie Horner.

Laurelhurst Knit Jacket
Sku #: MOD_LAURELHURST
Click here to order the pattern and see some great fabric choices.
Laurelhurst is such a fun jacket pattern to make from a knit fabric. It has an interesting and fun construction technique. All the outer edges are raw so it's a quick finish. It looks great out of our Bamboo Shibori knits from Telio

Long and Short of It
Sku #: MOD-LONG-SHORT
Click here to order the pattern and fabric pictured.
We used the pattern Long and Short of It from CNT pattern company. It includes sizes 8 - 22 and is an easy sewing project.
It's great with rayon that flows so nicely.
