Clothing Projects
Looking for inspiration for a clothing project? We love to create model garments to showcase ways to use some of our favorite fabrics and clothing patterns. Throughout our store you'll find model garments displayed as complete ensembles - usually even accessorized with purses and hats. In this section you'll find some of our Women's Clothing models with links to the patterns and fabrics we used to create them.

The London Shirt from Sewing Workshop is one of our newest patterns and becoming one of our favorites that you will see around the shop when you visit.

Light and Shadow model
Sku #: MOD-LIGHT-SHAW
Click here to see the pattern and possible fabrics for this garment.
We used the Cutting Corners pattern Light and Shadow to make this simple top. The fabric has pin tucks and just needed a simple neckline. It looks great with a chunky piece of jewlery.

London Shirt
Sku #: MOD-LON-EMBCOT
Click here to order the pattern and embossed cotton
We made our favorite London Shirt with the Embossed Cotton from Diamond Textiles. The fabric is not very drapy, but light enough to do this shirt.

London Shirt
Sku #: MOD-LON-MARIN
Click here to order the pattern and see the Mariners' Cloth fabric.
The London Shirt by Sewing Workshop is a new pattern for us and quickly becoming one of our favorites. You will see it many times in the shop when you visit.

Modern Silhouette Vest
Sku #: MOD-LANABO
Click here to order the pattern and see our Lana Bollito fabrics.
We used the Modern Silhouette Vest from Indygo Junction with our new Lana Bollito boiled wool. It's a perfect match as the fabric doesn't ravel and has a nice drape.
We allowed 1/8yd per yard for shrinkage and prewashed the fabric on warm and dryed on low.

Silky Noil Models
Sku #: MOD-LONG-SHRT-PINCH
Click here to see the colors of silky noil and patterns we used.
Both of these models use our new favorite fabric, Silky Noil by Telio'. This fabric is a combination of rayon and linen that drapes beautifully and hardly wrinkles. It's the best of both.
We have even made pants from this fabric.
Hope you will give it a try.

Tremont Jacket
Sku #: MOD-TREMONT
Click here to order the pattern and see the fabric we used.
We used the Tremont Jacket from The Sewing Workshop for this jacket. It's a very easy pattern and just one button.

Easy Ageless Cool in Rayon
Sku #: MOD-EAC-RAYON
The drape of the rayon will make this camp shirt so comfortable to wear. We used the Easy Ageless Cool pattern by Cutting Corners.

Long & Short in Rayon
Sku #: MOD-L/S-RAYON
Click here to order the Long & Short of it pattern.
The Long & Short of it is a flowing unstructured pattern that looks great in the Bali rayon.

Long & Short of It Rayon with Pants
Sku #: MOD-L/S-RYN
Click here to order the Long & Short Of It pattern and the rayon we used.
The Long & Short of it is a flowing unstructured pattern that looks great in the Bali rayon.
We made the pants out of the coordinating rayon. The great news is that the pattern has the pants with it!

Little Somethin' Jacket in Rayon
Sku #: MOD_LITTLE-SOMETHIN
Click here to order the pattern and fabric
The Little Somethin' Jacket is unlined and great out of a soft fabric like rayon batik. You don't have to worry if the wrong side shows; it will look the same.

Artist in Motion with Homespun
Sku #: MOD-ARTMOTION
Click here to order the pattern and fabric pictured.
We have made this pattern so many times and we love it out of each fabric we choose. If you aren't interested in the vest, the top is great for all year around.
We used a woven homespun in a "dirty" turquoise for this version.

In a Pinch Vest & Gallery Tunic
Sku #: MOD_PINCH
Click here to order the pattern and fabric used in this model.
We used two great patterns for this combination. The vest is "In a Pinch" by Louise Cutting and the plaid shirt underneath if the Gallery Tunic and Loominous from Anna Marie Horner.

Gallery Tunic
Sku #: MOD-DIG-LINEN
Click here to order the pattern and see the digital printed linens.
We have always loved linen fabrics, but had such a hard time finding any printed linen. Now we have a wonderful source for it and have many choices.
We used the Gallery Tunic pattern to make this soft and flowing long tunic. We did add 3 small buttons to the placket for a bit more finished look.

Hale Jacket
Sku #: HALE-JACKET
Click here to order the fabric and pattern.
The jacket from this project combines the Flame Hale 54" wide, 100% polyester fabric from Mill Creek with Wear With All Jacket Pattern. The label suggests Dry Cleaning, but we machine washed and dried this fabric before constructing the jacket and it looks great.
